Mid-show at RMAF 2011

Well, as you’ve probably noticed, I haven’t posted a single thing on here since the show started. Which means either one of two things: one, I haven’t done any writing since I’ve been here; or two, I’m posting somewhere else. Let’s go with a bit of both.

So, some updates have gone directly to Facebook — so, if you’re a Follower or a Friend, you’re seeing some stuff there. If you’re not, it’s probably because you’re afraid of Facebook. Get over it. If you’re kids can do it, so can you.

The rest are meticulously piled up in my hotel room. Okay, more likely they’re in one of 742 different piles somewhere in this mess, but hey, who’s counting? Anyway, rest assured, more will be forthcoming.

Ran into a bunch of folks so far. Ted_B, Barrows and DallasJustice from CA. Michael Lavorgna and John Atkinson of AudioStream and Stereophile. Larry Borden from Dagogo (and CA). And a host of others. I even have photos to prove it!

Okay, so, stay tuned. I promise I’ll have more forthcoming. Today, I’ve got a seminar at 4 about the “Future of Hi-Res” or something like that, and then at 9pm, Dean Peer will be playing live. Can’t tell you how psyched I am about that.

Oh, here’s a thing I’m not so psyched about —  battery life. I’ve gone through two sets of AA batteries on my camera flash and my iPhone is now getting about 4 hours to a charge with all the Facebookery I’ve been doing for the show.

On the other hand, DallasJustice and I blew it out at Del Frisco’s late last night. Say it with me: “veal porterhouse”. OMFG. Hooray for the selective reduction in overcrowding of male milk cows! Best. Steak. Ever.

Ok, that’s enough for now. Time for my next fix. Check in with you all soon.
