Sonus Faber SF16: Lifestyle Redefined

In Sardinia today, Sonus Faber unveiled their newest toy. A complete reimagining of the concept “lifestyle”, the SF16 is an all-in-one stereo system. All you need is a power plug.

Ten drivers, arrayed in a push-push configuration for the down low and using “field shaping” tech trickling down from the flagship Aida, the table-top wonder is — like everything Sonus Faber — absolutely gorgeous to see and touch.

Oh, and yes, those “arms” for the mid and tweeter are telescoping. Heh heh.

Source is preferably Wi-Fi (via DTS Play-Fi, for up to 24bit/192kHz streaming), but there are digital and analog inputs too. DSP controlled, and with enough pro-audio class-D amps to generate 1400 watts, the SF16 is hand-made in Italy, and will have a limited production run/capacity of only 200 units per year.

The presentation said that the design goal was “Fall in love in one second.” If so, job done. Did I mention it’s gorgeous?
