The big Benz shoved me back into my leather seat with a gentle, yet urgent insistence as it surged ahead on the autobahn.
A quick glance at the speedometer confirmed the car was edging towards 230k/ph.
The video-game like effect of weaving through traffic at these speeds was both surreal, and terrifying, but looking out the passenger window the world seemed strangely serene. As I glanced at my watch the second-hand sweep seemed to slow, and Einstein’s General Theory of Relativity came to mind.
A dip in the road, and a chuckle to my left brought me back to reality as Peter Qvortrup gunned the car, and we continued to rocket towards our destination: Munich.
This is my first time attending the show, and I’m combining my coverage of it with a special visit, and factory tour of Audio Note UK from my host Qvortrup, who graciously proffered to drive me down to High End in between my time in London, and Audio Note’s loudspeaker factory near Salzburg in Austria after the show.
The plan is hit the ground running here with fellow Part-Time journos Mohammed Samji, and Dr. Panagiotis Karavitis to bring you as much news, and photography from the floors of the MOC, and the Munich Marriott that High End 2017 is calling home.
Please check back often as we will be posting multiple daily updates.
