CHICAGO (PTA) — This year’s AXPONA audio show is already on course to be their biggest, and most newsworthy yet. Lots of product debuts are happening at this show, and we’re committed to bringing you the most extensive coverage of what’s NEW and out-of-this-world in the hi-fi universe. Let’s start with the Must See Rooms for Friday (Day One) of Axpona 2019

Room #370 — Vana Ltd., Audio Physic, EAT (European Audio Team), Okki Nokki

Axpona will mark the world premier of the NEW EAT Forte Leather Edition with new high mass platter and NEW F-note Tonearm. Roy and Justin Feldstein, Anthony Chiarella and Chris Parles will be demonstrating the Audio Physic Virgo III and Classic 15 Loudspeakers, EAT E-Glo and E-Glo Petit Phono Preamps with LPS Power Supply, C-Sharp and Prelude Turntables.

Room #734 — Nordost,VTL, dCS, VPI, and Stenheim

For the first time, Nordost and VTL have come together to assemble what is possibly the ultimate sound system. Their reference-level products are assured to be performing at their best, as they are arranged and fine-tuned by world-class set-up artist, Stirling Trayle. I don’t want to spoil the details, but the component list for this room is peerless.

Furthermore, Nordost and Holm Audio will be doing their LIVE comparison demonstrations, which if you haven’t sat in on one of those, what are you even doing at the show? Be there.

Room #510 — Spatial Audio Lab, ModWright, Pure Fidelity, ANTICABLES

Pure Fidelity has a NEW turntable for you to spin, and Spatial Audio Lab will introduce their NEW X3 loudspeaker. This high tech, open baffle design using Spatial’s latest developments. The X3 incorporates a self-powered 15 inch dipole woofer. Being a 3-way design it also uses a custom designed 12 inch mid-range driver and ultra-wideband Heil AMT driver. Fair warning given, Spatial open baffle systems may change the way you think about loudspeakers. You’ve been warned.

Room #1222 — Tenacious Sound, EgglestonWorks, Coda Technologies, Audience, and IsoTek

EgglestonWorks will be demonstrating their acclaimed Kiva loudspeakers ($14,995/pr). Known inside the company as “Baby Viginti”, but that is just where the story begins. Axpona 2019 will mark the World Premiere of EgglestonWorks’ NEW entry-level speaker: the Nico Evo. Following in the footsteps of Viginti, Kiva and Emma Evo, this new bookshelf model shares their innovative slot-ported enclosure technology, robust internal bracing, and revised drivers which have been custom-designed specifically for the Nico Evo loudspeaker.

Room #729 — Parasound, Buchardt, EAT, Bluesound, NorStone, and Straightwire

Buchardt debuts for the first time in North America with their S400 two-way stand-mount loudspeaker, and Parasound’s NewClassic line receives another great update with the NewClassic 200 INT Integrated Amplifier. Take the NewClassic 200 PRE and add 110 watts of amplifier power under the hood, and you have what might be the most bang-for-the-buck in do-it-all center-piece audio components. Don’t miss out on this demo.
