LOS ANGELES (PTA) — This year’s T.H.E. SHOW 2019 is bigger, better, and already on track to be the most newsworthy yet. There are over 1,000,000 brands exhibiting here in Long Beach — okay, okay — maybe not a million brands exactly, but 200 brands is definitely twice as many over last year. Which makes T.H.E. SHOW 2019’s event feel every bit like the premier audio show of America’s west coast. Lots of exciting manufacturer debuts are taking place at this year’s show, and we at Part-Time Audiophile are committed to bringing you the most extensive coverage of what’s NEW and out-of-this-world in our little Hi-Fi universe.
Let us then carry on with the Must See Rooms for Day Two of T.H.E. SHOW 2019
Sunny Components, Technics, Audience, EgglestonWorks, Bryston | Room #603
New loudspeakers from EgglestonWorks, and spinning vinyl on a Technics turntable. The EgglestonWorks tower loudspeakers look like a million bucks, sound like two million, and are available in any color for only $6,000 pr USD
Elite AV Dist., Furutech, Kuzma, HRT, L’art Du Son, Relaxa, Plinius, Manley Labs | Room #412
There’s just too much to see in this one room that should be humanly possible. Bring pen, paper, and your camera phone.
Esoteric, Von Schweikert | Room #421
A full rack of Esoteric gear, what could possibly be better? Esoteric is making a west coast debut of their new SACD player and DAC, while Von Scheikert Audio is making a world debut of their new Endeavor 5 MkII towers.
Acora Acoustics, Charisma Audio, VAC, Cardas, Codia, Esoteric | Room #430
Big sound from Ontario, Canada in Acora Acoustics. They are showing towers and stand-mounts, neither of which I heard before this weekend. Definitely something not to miss if you’re in the market for tone, speed, and realism in imaging.
Scott Walker Audio, VAC, Magico, Aurender, MSB, Acoustic Signature | The Boardroom (Floor 3)
This is just a really kick-ass system from top-to-bottom, and the first time I’ve heard Reel-To-Reel tape on Magico loudspeakers. Makes me wonder what the hell I’ve been doing with my life.
Audiogen, Wavac Audio Lab, Tune Audio | Room #434
All passive, fully horn loaded, three way loudspeaker, distinguished by it’s bass horn which stands tall and fires directly to the floor. Now wait for it… 109dB of sensitivity. Needless to say it’s tube friendly, and this room has the tubes.
