DENVER (PTA) — As we approach the second half of the year, it feels much like “Audio Show Season” has a second beginning. Including a new venue for the Rocky Mountain International Audio Fest (RMAF) at the brand new Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center. As usual however, the Part-Time Audiophile Dream Team will be in attendance to deliver our world-renowned comprehensive exhibit coverage, and stories that outline the spirit and feel of the event and community.

As for myself (Eric Franklin Shook™), I’ll be leaving for RMAF 2019 a little early. Try four days early, via Chicago, Illinois where I’ll be chronicling my journey through fine dining, sight seeing, and visits with the better audiophile haunts of the windy city. Stay tuned as this documented (and demented) journey is cast with “Electro-Pop/Jazz Sensation” Grover Neville, fellow industry maven Jameson Mourafetis, all-around nice guy Marc Boyle, and myself as we embark on a road-trip that begins in Chicago, stops in Denver for RMAF 2019, and culminates in Los Angelas, California.

While at RMAF 2019, the boys (listed above) and I will be hosting an “Under Forty Dinner” where anyone and everyone attending the show, who feels they accurately represent “the under forty” crowd (be it literally or spiritually) can gather amongst other young audiophiles. Where in one place we can have a good time to share and refine our generations thoughts about the hobby, the industry, and its future.

So often it’s one lonely voice of youth: in a room, on a panel, or in a thread online — representing an entire generation or two. Having us all-together, around one big table, will help us define and qualify our message to the industry.

Ways to follow RMAF 2019 coverage

There’s no place like home, and that is the Part-Time Audiophile homepage, with daily coverage of the show beginning day one of the show. There’s also The Occasional Podcast where host and editor Brian Hunter (of AudioHead) conducts in-depth interviews that sometimes rival those of network television’s greatest late night icons. And of course there’s the The Occasional Magazine where editor Marc Phillips compiles a deeper dive into the audiophile lifestyle, which encompasses much of the luxury arena. Be it travel, cigars, fine spirits, cars, and the occasional component review.

ROCKY MOUNTAIN AUDIO FEST 2019

The 16th Annual Rocky Mountain International Audio Fest (RMAF) is the largest consumer audio and home entertainment show in the United States. Simply put: “mega stereo systems!” Denver’s own audio wonderland now features over 160 exhibit spaces representing more than 400 companies from North and South America, Europe, Australia and Asia.

HeadSpace at RMAF is a show-within-a-show, organized by the RMAF team, it features the latest and greatest in headphone technology, which is the fastest growing segment of the audio industry.

Attendees are encouraged to go from room-to-room, interact with salespeople and engineers, have a seat and casually listen. Many bring their own iPods, discs or vinyl records, as most exhibitors are happy to play one or two favorite songs as a demonstration of sound quality. A variety of equipment is demonstrated, ranging from affordable audio systems to ultra-expensive high-end gear.

RMAF 2019 also features live entertainment, informative seminars, equipment show specials, and prize drawings throughout the weekend.
