SEATTLE, WA (PTA) — It was announced on Facebook yesterday by Lou Hinkley, founder of the Pacific Audio Fest that the show has signed on the dotted line (Are dotted lines even a thing any more? Were they ever?) to secure the location and scheduled date for the summer 2021 audio show. We at part-time audiophile remain hopeful and stand by with fingers crossed. Below is further information from Lou, from the Pacific Audio Fest website, and progress as of today’s posting.

The show is on for July30-Aug 1 2021, at the Doubletree Hilton Sea-Tac, in Seattle Washington.

From Lou Hinkley, “With over 800 sleeping rooms, spacious exhibit rooms, two ballrooms and a killer 14th floor restaurant and bar offering 360 degree views of Seattle and Mt Rainier the Doubletree hilton is a perfect home for the Pacific Audio Fest. Located minutes from Sea-Tac airport and the SeaTac Airport Light Rail Station with a great hotel shuttle fleet, the venue is easy to get to and easy to explore the beautiful Seattle region from the home base of a luxury hotel. This is going to be a great show!”

Details so far: “Special PAF guest rate of $179 per night, with the option of extending the group rate 3 days before and after the event, so people can turn this into a family vacation. The Pacific Audio Fest is the first major audio show promoted by exhibitors and music lovers, for music lovers and exhibitors!

The Pacific Audio Fest is a new audio show hosted in Seattle and serving the entire Pacific coast, from Los Angeles to Vancouver, BC. Seattle is a top tech hub and one of the fastest growing communities in the USA, plus it is a vacation paradise in the summer months. The Seattle area has great demographics for the audio industry and incredible natural beauty to make this a great destination for the audio enthusiast and their families.

PAF show Director and Founder Lou Hinkley has nearly thirty years experience as an exhibitor in music trade shows and festivals with his company Daedalus Audio. The show collaborators include Gary Gill, Founder of Capital Audiofest, and other notables in the audio industry, together we will make this a fun and extremely high quality event for attendees and vendors all the while keeping this show to a scale that works for everyone. We personally believe 80-100 rooms makes for a great, stress free show and will leave larger shows than that to others.

More about the Pacific Audio Fest for exhibitors

The Pacific Audio Fest is first and foremost a show by exhibitors for exhibitors, with that in mind we are always open to input and will do everything possible to make this a great show for every exhibitor and of course by doing that it will be a great show for all attendees.

One of the guiding principles for this show will be to keep the scale manageable for everyone. With that in mind we see about 80 rooms as optimum and will insure that the show will not expand far beyond that. We expect the show to fill if not the first year , then certainly the second. Once we hit our desired capacity of about eighty exhibit rooms we will simply have a first come first served waiting list. For those who have a room you will have “grandfather” rights and we will be absolutely certain that you do not want to continue with that room before giving it to anyone else. No assumptions or playing with deadlines etc.

We are a long ways from reserving rooms but we will have safeguards for cancellation, so that no one is left holding the bag. By the time we are ready to reserve rooms the PAF website will handle all forms etc. professionally so registration, badges, directory forms are simple, easy to do and with no “mistakes.”

Finally it would be an understatement to say we are in uncertain times, but since it takes an immense amount of time and work to initiate a top quality professional show, we will forge ahead. Obviously there will be no deposits until the COVID-19 situation is manageable. When I began work on PAF in fall of 2019 the date of late July/early-August 2021 was established as the goal. We are still shooting for that but realize that date may need to be pushed back. Whenever it does happen there is a need for a solid Pacific show that will draw from LA to Vancouver, BC and the Pacific Audio Fest will be ready to rock when the time is right.
