  1. It is no secret, that the new ingrediend that is game changing for VS sound is Lampizator Horizon DAC. The first time ever they decided to take the plunge.

    • Hi Guys,

      Good podcast!

Just thought you might want to clarify something, given the international audience likely listening.

You were talking about the price of the Joseph Audio Pulsars going up. Brian (I think?) remembered it as being $9,000 a few years ago.

Was that American or Canadian dollars?

Executive Stereo is a Canadian store so their MSRP of $13,650 is normally going to be well higher than a US price, with the exchange rate. (As a Canadian I’m always made painfully aware of this).

It would be good to clear that up as the price difference may be due more to the US/CAD exchange rate vs Joseph having raised the price significantly, and maybe some US listeners got the wrong idea about the price.

      Cheers.

      • Since Brian Hunter and I are both from the US, we’re probably talking US dollars. In the magazine, we try to specify USD or euros whenever we can. The only time I’ve mentioned Canadian dollars is if it’s a product that is available in Canada and not the US, or if I’m visiting Canada.

During this period of inflation, it’s best if we don’t get wrapped up in MSRPs right now. Almost every high-end audio company had had to raise their prices significantly in the last year, and it’s almost impossible for us to keep track. Don’t use us, or any other website or magazine, as a resource for pricing right now–contact your nearest dealer for the most up-to-date info.
