There are a lot of key elements that go into the perfect speaker. While much attention is usually given to the drivers, materials and size, a huge element of the total sound is influenced by the speaker cabinet as well. In this week’s episode of our audio-centric show The Occasional Podcast, Andrew Jones of MoFi Electronics enlightens us with a laundry list of perspectives on what works (or doesn’t work) with cabinet design.
Andrew Jones has a long history with hifi. Over the year’s he has worked for the likes of KEF, Pioneer, ELAC, TAD and is currently working on a new special project with MoFi Electronics that has yet to be revealed. He covers off on the topics like getting bass out of small boxes, working with tube amplifiers, getting the right gear behind your speakers, damping, resonate frequency and more.
