I have to admit–there’s a part of me that missed hearing Vinnie Rossi amplification with Qln speakers. That’s some of the best sound I know right there, after all, with a Vinnie Rossi Brama integrated amplifier and the Qln Signature monitors comprising much of my getting-off-the-merry-go-round system. At AXPONA 2023, the two companies were split up–Qln was featured in Well Pleased AV next door, which made room for a unique pairing. So get ready for Vinnie Rossi and Rockport Technologies!

That’s right, Vinnie Rossi and Rockport. While the Rockport Atria II loudspeakers ($38,000/pr USD) aren’t quite as warm and comforting as a pair of Qln Siggies, they certainly have potent dynamics that I kept feeling in my bread basket, just a steady pulse that hit me softly and repeatedly. The Brama integrated amplifier ($38,995), after all, is a powerful amplifier, and this seemed like the kind of system that could wander downstairs into one of the big ballrooms and still blow everyone’s toupee off their shiny heads. But I’m glad, once again, to experience Vinnie’s masterful amps in a more intimate setting where I can hear every last bit of detail.
Other pieces of the Vinnie Rossi and Rockport puzzle included the Innuos Statement music server with the Next-Gen power supply ($21,700), the MSB Premiere DAC ($27,500, with Pro ISL/USB for an additional $1,980), a nifty-looking Stromtank SEQ-5 ($4,875) and Transparent cable. What I found interesting was that Vinnie Rossi and Innuos were mated in two rooms–the Innuos room, and this room. Both rooms, by the way, were among the very best sounding spots to hang at AXPONA 2023.
So what’s the verdict on Vinnie Rossi and Rockport? It’s been a couple of years since I first heard this gorgeous amplifier with Qln, so I can’t quite pick a favorite, but I think it’s becoming obvious that the Brama integrated amplifier can bring any pair of loudspeakers up to the next level.
