Today, Chord Electronics is announcing a new integrated amplifier, the Ultima, priced at £8,500. Ultimate is the first new Chord Electronics integrated amplifier in the past seven years and is the only full-width model in the company’s range. The Anni, from the Qutest range, is the company’s only other integrated amplifier.
According to the press release, this new amp will feature trickle-down tech from their flagship line, including their latest thinking in dual-feed-forward error-correction topology and their proprietary ultra-high-frequency power supplies. Each will be hand-built in Kent, England.
The Ultima will feature four inputs, one fully balanced and three unbalanced, with input selection done via microprocessor-controlled sealed relays.
Like all of Chord Electronics’ full-size and Reference range amplifiers, the new amplifier is available in a choice of Jet Black or Argent Silver. The amplifier can also be specified with a highly polished black acrylic side block option at no additional cost.
Chord Electronics’ founder, owner and chief designer, John Franks, said:
“The new ULTIMA INTEGRATED offers levels of performance not yet seen in any integrated amplifier. It features no fewer than four separate high-power line input phase-corrected power supplies working in harmony to give this new amplifier the high energy power levels and fast transient power that Chord Electronics’ products are known for.”
The Ultima is available for ordering now from Chord retail partners, with first customer shipments anticipated in September.
