Andrew Jones is one of our favorite people to have on the show because he: 1. knows things 2. shares that knowledge in an articluate manner 3. has a British accent that just makes things sound cool. Crossovers can be a complicated subject when constructing (and purchasing) a loudspeaker, but in this week’s episode of The Occasional Podcast, Andrew helps clear up some of the misconceptions on the somewhat cloudy subject of internal speaker hardware.
Season 9 Episode 10 features Mr. Jones sharing a ton of great information on speaker crossovers, you can find even more of his insights in his previous appearances in S8E4 and S7E5, where he discusses his recent move to Mofi Electronics. Mr. Jones has two new speakers of his design out right now under the MoFi Electronics umbrella that are raising some buzz in the market – the Sourcepoint 8 & 10. These large, concentric paper-cone drivers are fairly unique in the current landscape of bookshelf/standmount loudspeakers at the current moment, and in a way show how Andrew continues to evolve and dynamically approach the market with each new product.
Don’t forget to check out our merch for Season 9, a 100% bronze record weight that is really something behold, and to hold.
The Occasional Podcast has launched into its 9th season with our educational series starting with Top 3 Things You Need To Know About Streaming Audio, 5 things to consider when buying a tube amplifier and How To Reduce Noise and Hum In Your System, our Halloween Special and our interview with Steve Guttenberg and Herb Reichert from earlier this season.
