The Suncoast Audio rooms with the $33,800 per pair Clarisys Minuet Neo speakers at Florida Audio Expo last February were special–so special that I wanted to catch them again at AXPONA 2023 before writing about them. In Florida I was able to hear them on VAC amps and preamps, so hearing them on some non-tube amps was definitely Order #1 on my list.
After breakfast I made a bee-line to the Suncoast Audio, Clarisys and Hegel room at AXPONA 2023 to validate some feelings I had about these speakers. I am not usually a big fan of panel speakers, but have been thoroughly impressed by the Clarisys Minuet Neos every single time I hear them.

According to Suncoast Audio, “Clarisys is the passionate and most committed approach to music. Since 2010 they have worked to optimize their ribbons with unique features such as double-sided bass ribbons and neodymium magnet structures with top-quality crossover parts (for example, Jantzen Superior Z, MultiCap, and others) built from solid blocks of aluminum.”
I feel, after all, that bass is the foundation on which the rest of good sound is built. The bass from these Clarisys panels has to be experienced to be believed. The low end frequencies out of these transducers is probably the deepest, fastest, and most omnipresent I have heard at a high-end audio show.
The mids of the Clarisys Minuet Neos, through the $9k Hegel P30A preamps and $19k PH30A stereo power amp, were also pretty neutral, and also very pleasing. The speed of the high frequencies from the ribbons, however, are downright fantastic. (Source material was covered by a discontinued Hegel HD30 streamer and DAC.) While I cannot wait to get a pair home for a proper review, I strongly believe that everyone should take a listen to this stunning new line as soon as possible.
