The Florida Audio Expo (or FLAX 2024 for short) was an undeniable success by many accounts. Attendance on Friday was as densely populated throughout the halls of the Embassy Suites in Tampa as any this reviewer has witnessed, and manufacturers, dealers, distributors and retailers all seemed fairly satisfied with the results (a pretty hard feat to accomplish).
On this week’s episode of The Occasional Podcast we are proud to kick off Season 10 with our coverage of FLAX 2024 thanks to the diligent coverage of PTA Editor-In-Chief Marc Phillips and host Brian Hunter. Give the embed below a listen for all the highlights, new product announcements and best-of-show awards.
The Occasional Podcast has launched into its 10th season with the intensity of a well fed speaker tap. Expect new interviews, deep dives and show coverage all season long. You can also check our conversation with speaker designer John Devore and our educational series starting with Crossovers With Andrew Jones Top 3 Things You Need To Know About Streaming Audio, 5 things to consider when buying a tube amplifier and How To Reduce Noise and Hum In Your System, and our interview with Steve Guttenberg and Herb Reichert from last season. You can check out our live recording from the last show, Capital Audiofest 2023.
If you have any questions regarding gear recommendations, we highly recommend giving our year-end Audiophile Buyer’s Guide for 2024 a listen.
